Sea Water / Fresh Water Cooling System

The machinery systems fitted on board ships are designed to work with maximum efficiency and run for long hours. The most common and maximum energy loss from machinery is in the form of heat energy. This loss of heat energy has to be reduced or carried away by a cooling media, such as central cooling water system, to avoid malfunctioning or breakdown of the machinery. For this system, there are two cooling systems used on board for the cooling purpose; Sea Water cooling system and Freshwater or central cooling system. Each one implemented for different sections of the ship. Overhaul and repair of this system must be done with proper precautions and equipment, which MHIS can be a service of.

Lube Oil

Lubrication is essential for any kind of machinery onboard ships. Lubrication of Main Engine is responsible for lubricating and cooling the internal parts, which are acting relative to each other creating friction and heat, resulting into overheating of parts. Lubrication not only provides cooling and but also the removal of any debris or impurities. Lube oil systems provide lubrication and cooling to gas turbines and other industrial equipment. For a lube oil system to function fully, an accumulator must be in place. An accumulator is a pressure vessel that stores oil and contains a mechanical means of maintaining pressure when the pump shuts down, thus cushioning fluctuations in oils pressure. Proper maintenance must be conducted to ensure service problems are kept to a minimum. Such as clogs and leaks can hinder the whole operation. Our company provides maintenance services as well.
